All yarn skeins are one of a kind even though they are dyed according to the same recipe and in the same dye bath. This is what makes hand-dyed yarns so unique, just like you are.
For dyeing, I have used professional fiber reactive dye that binds to the material so that the dye and the yarn become one. This makes the color extremely colorfast and fade-resistant.
I have rinsed each skein thoroughly by hand, but despite that, a little bleeding can occur at the first wash, as it is with all hand-dyed yarn.
If you are experiencing major issues with any yarn please let me know.
As with all hand dyed items, I recommend hand washing your yarn/finished item in cool water and laying it flat to dry. I rinse this yarn until the water runs crystal clear, but small amounts of excess dye may rarely come off with the first couple of washings or on your fingers If you wear lotions or have oily hands (this is called "crocking." If this happens, rest assured that it is only excess dye and should not affect the coloring of your yarn in any way. If a large amount of bleeding ever occurs with any of our items, please contact me so we can make it right. I always recommend hand washing handmade items to preserve the longevity of my beautiful work.
I recommend using cool water and a neutral soap, such as baby shampoo, when blocking your finished item if you are knitting or crocheting it.
If you need more yarn than there is available or if you want this color on a different yarn base, send me a message, I'm here to help you 💜
