About Me
~“I shall always remember how the peacocks’ tails shimmered when the moon rose amongst the tall trees, and on the shady bank the emerging mermaids gleamed fresh and silvery amongst the rocks…”
For hunderds of years, the peacock has been honored for its beauty and symbolism. The ancient cultures like Greeks, Egyptians, and Romans praised the beauty of peacocks because of their vibrant colors. The sight of a peacock was thought to be a gift from the gods or other divine beings. Thus they were highly valued as a luck-bringing sign of bounty.
All my life I have been drawn to colors. How they change one's mood, how colors change character when presented in different combinations.
I have always taken refuge and gained strength in creation. Creation in form of painting, crochet, knitting, music and food. For the last 10 years my focus has been on crochet, this is where my heart has belonged. The feeling of creating something beautiful with a bit of thread and a crochet hook is indescribable. About 3 years ago, when I was looking for hand-dyed cotton yarns for my projects, I discovered that there was not a large selection of beautiful deep, dark, vibrant shades on cotton yarn, but instead a very large selection of these colors on wool yarn. So I started experimenting and dyeing my own yarn. I got hooked right away.
As the Romans praised the beauty of the peacock because of their vibrant colors I too praise the peacock for giving us so much inspiration and my mission is to implement all that beauty to your handcraft and beautiful handmade pieces bringing you inspiration and joy.
